The city of São Paulo, which is, for many people, a global city. Its also a city with many multinational companies which profit millions of euros and millions of dollars. These companies are located in places such as Av. Paulista and Marginal Pinheiros. This project doesn’t go towards this globalization and capitalism. Here it is proposed an intervention to a characterless urban center, where people live in poor conditions and far from the judgment of the bourgeoisie. Then, it was projected a linear park to improve the once famous Av. São João. And over an old viaduct, it was implanted a museum, MUC – Museum of Urban Culture.

The MUC embraces the viaduct - the new Linear Park “Minhocão” – having a relation with it. For its facade, it was chosen an installation of the artist Ned Kahn, which gives it movement and dynamism. The reflex of the city in its own facade transmits this dynamism.

In the interior of the museum, the complexity of São Paulo is show by the mezzanines which transmit the sensation of the crossing viaduct existed in the city. Likewise, the different scales enable verticality to the interior of the building.

Summarizing, this project intends not only to transmit its form, but to transmit the life of the city, enabling new interventions to this forgotten city area.
